We don’t think twice when it comes to dressing up, eating whatever we like, and travelling where we feel like. Then why give it a second thought when it comes to our oral hygiene ???
We know, we are the laziest generation and want short cut for everything possible.
But trust me maintaining oral hygiene isn’t as time taking as we think and you know what you get in return? “A FACE WITH BEAUTIFUL FLAWLESS SMILE”
Its March already, This is the time of the year where we celebrate the Oral Health Month and help raise awareness on the importance of good oral health.
Healthy habits like brushing, cleaning between your teeth and seeing your dentist — can make a big difference in the health and happiness of your entire family.
WHAT TO DO FOR A HEALTHY SMILE?
- BRUSHING

Since childhood we are taught to brush our teeth and who doesn’t know that? But, its very important to brush in a correct way.
Always use a soft bristle brush (Be gentle: your teeth are like your kids)
Use a toothpaste containing fluoride (fluoride hates cavities!)
keep the brush at approx 45 degree at the gum line and make circular vibratory motions and sweep the brush away from gum line.
gently brush the outside, inside and chewing surface of each tooth using short back and forth strokes
Gently brush your tongue to remove bacteria
Brushing your teeth for 2 minutes twice daily. (Maggie cannot be made in 2 minutes but brushing can be done)

Now, there’s much more to brushing your teeth.
Brushing in between your teeth is equally important. It’s called Inter dental brushing.
- FLOSSING
You also need to floss, as this reaches the particles trapped between your teeth and out of reach for a toothbrush.
We suggest doing this every night before bed.
Take a piece of floss tape about 18 inches long and wrap each end around your middle fingers, holding it taut with your index fingers and thumbs.
Then gently move the tape up and down each side of every tooth, moving up and down in a “c” motion and dipping below the gum line when you do. (Never snap the floss onto the gums)
Be sure to also floss at the back surface of the last molar.

- MOUTHWASH AND GUMPAINT
MOUTHWASH :
Dilute If Necessary – Be sure to read the label on any brand of mouthwash that you choose. Different brands have different concentrations, and some may recommend that you dilute them with water. Remember, if the label does not tell you to dilute, then you may not get the full benefit of the mouth wash if the germ killing ingredients are at a lower level.
Mouthwash is not a replacement – It is essential to remember that no mouthwash is a replacement for the regular oral care routine of twice-daily brushing and daily flossing. So, even if your dentist recommends or prescribes a mouthwash, you still need to follow your complete oral care routine to maintain good dental health.
Watch The Clock – One of the keys to using mouthwash correctly is to swish it in your mouth for the correct amount of time. Read the product label. Most mouthwashes recommend that you swish the product around in your mouth for 30 seconds to one minute then spit it out.

GUMPAINT:
Gum Paint is a topical solution which contains antiseptic agents. It is applied locally on gums in severe bacterial infections and inflammatory conditions.
For application of gum paint take a drop or two of gum paint in your hand and with finger you can massage the gums using clockwise and anticlockwise motion of the finger. The gum paint is very effective if used after doing the warm salt water gargling.
Do not rinse with water or eat/drink anything for 30 minutes after the application of gum paint.
