Dental Crown
A dental crown is a custom-made tooth cap that constitutes ceramic (porcelain), Zirconia, porcelain-fused-to-metal, or metal. Dental crowns fit over broken teeth to restore their natural appearance and protect them from further damage.
If you have a piece of the tooth that still has healthy roots but has broken off due to age, an accident, a weak filling, or any other reason, we at Realtooth, offer Crown and Bridge dentistry and can fix it with a dental crown.
Dental Bridge
Are you completely missing one or more teeth? If so, a dental bridge is an option to consider. A dental bridge involves placing dental crowns on both sides of your missing tooth and then inserting a replacement tooth between them. The replacement tooth is then attached to the dental crowns on either side to create a strong and permanent connection (or “bridge”).
Dental bridges have numerous advantages like
It looks like natural teeth, lasts for a very long time, can be cleaned without removing & is cost-effective as compared to dental implants in Lucknow
Types of crowns as per their availability
Permanent crowns can be made from porcelain-fused-to-metal, zirconium-oxide or E.max.
PFM Dental Crowns
Metal ceramic crowns are a traditional type of crown often used in bridges plus crown and bridge cases. They are often fitted onto back teeth and are considered a strong, robust type of crown. But they are viewed as less attractive. Many people choose the all ceramic crowns, zirconium or the E-Max crown for their greater aesthetic appeal. It is considered a better fit than many other types of crowns and to have greater strength as well. They are often cheaper than other types of crowns, for example all ceramic crowns.
E-Max Dental Crowns
This is a type of all-ceramic crown with an appealing translucent color that is combined with extra strength and durability. This crown is considered to be the best match with your own natural teeth. The transparent colour and natural shape ensure that it is unlikely to be noticed amongst your own natural teeth. There is no metal alloy base with this crown which means no hideous grey line around the gum line. They are strong, long lasting and unlikely to crack or fracture as compared to the various other types of crowns. They are considered to be at lesser risk of chipping compared to zirconia crowns.
Zirconium Oxide Crown (CAD/CAM)
Zirconia crowns are usually designed digitally either in an office that has the software and hardware to produce them or in a dental lab. A zirconia crown is a popular type of all-ceramic crown which is worn to improve the appearance of a tooth which has become stained or disfigured over the years. They are durable, easy to wear and long lasting. So, a good choice if you are looking for a strong, long lasting and visually appealing crown. They are ideal at covering signs of damage or staining as well as helping to maintain the function of the tooth. The tough, durable nature of a zirconia crown can work against it as well as in its favor. This material has an abrasive quality which can cause friction against the root of the tooth as well as other teeth.
